Hi, my Name is Mariko and I am the creator of KokoHooi. I was born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland married to Niels who is originally Dutch but has acquired the Swiss citizenship by now. Together with your two daughters Liya (3) and Kenzie (2). Together we lived in Zurich, enjoying a (kind of) multicultural life, bringing our children up in a two-and-a-half-language-home and with the lucky opportunity to travel often since hubby works in aviation (stand-by traveling is the key). In March 2018 we packed up our stuff and moved to Montreal, Canada. Once the project, which Niels works on is finished we will pack up again, but this time to travel around the world with the girls.
I started this blog to share our story and our adventures while living abroad and traveling.
I decided to write in English to reach everyone who’s interested to follow along (already our two families don’t speak the same language, nor do our old and new friends we met along the way. English is not ma mother tongue and I never scored high marks in grammar. I hope you’ll forgive this and enjoy the content nevertheless.
